Lobe pumps VORTEX  (without bypass valve) and VORTEX B (with bypass valve), are of the vacuum pump type  in which a pair of lobed rotors rotate synchronously at high speed. When rotating, these produce suction and exhaust, as it works at a lower pressure, the distance between the lobes is much smaller.
